The Battle of the Bulge was one of the last major offensive fronts for the Germans during the Second World War. It was a surprise attack through the Ardennes forest that caught the Allies completely off guard. It was the worst battle that the United States would face during the Second World War, as they would endure the majority of the Germans offensive force initially and they lost the most men. During these events, Paris would be liberated, and it was decided that Operation Market Garden, the ploy to end the war before the Russians got to Berlin was established. However, the Russian attack on Berlin during the Battle of the Bulge would take a massive toll on Germany, and ultimately lead to the end of the entire war. Understanding that he had no way of coming out successful from this chain of events, Hitler commits suicide in a bunker in Berlin. In Berlin, the Americans and the Russians would meet, having successfully ended Hitler's reign in Germany.
